Course Completion
In order to receive your award or qualification from the Institute you must successfully complete all the assessments, assignments, exams and other requirements as set out for each subject or module, within the maximum timeframes specified.
- Certified Accounting Technician - 2 years
- Registered Cost Accountant and Registered Business Administrator - 4 years
- Graduate Management Accountant - 8 years
- Graduate Conversion Program - 2 years
- Certified Management Accountant - 5 years
- MBA (including Graduate Conversion & CMA) - 10 years
- MBA (post Graduate Conversion & CMA) - 3 years

- Certified Accounting Technician (Stage 1)
Competency based RPL given on a subject-by-subject basis (see subject outlines)
- Registered Cost Accountant (Stage 2) (similar level to a Diploma in Accounting issued in Australia)
Competency based RPL given on a subject-by-subject basis (see subject outlines)
- Registered Business Accountant (Stage 3) (similar level to a Advanced Diploma in Accounting issued in Australia) Competency based RPL given on a subject-by-subject basis (see subject outlines)
- Graduate Management Accountant (Stages 1-4)
With an Advanced Diploma in Accounting – 75% of subjects exempted (Stages 1, 2 & 3) With a Recognised Professional Qualification in a Non-Accounting field – 75% of subjects exempted (Stages 1, 2 & 3) With a Degree in Accounting from accredited university - 100% of subjects exempted (Stages 1-4) With a Degree in Non-Accounting Field - 75% subjects exempted (Stages 1-3) With a MBA – depending on the MBA 75%-100% may be exempted (see below)
- Graduate Conversion Program (Stage 4)
With a MBA from accredited university – Minimum of 2 subjects exempted (Financial Modelling and Financial Management) and a maximum of 4 depending on the MBA.

No advanced standing given, unless ICMA accredited subjects are completed in recognized universities.
