Datuk Bazlan Osman

Datuk Bazlan Osman is Executive Director and Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer of the Telekom Malaysia Group (TM Group).

Datuk Bazlan began his career as an auditor with a public accounting firm in 1986.  He served the Sime Darby Group, holding various finance positions in its corporate offices in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Melaka.  He then had a stint with American Express Malaysia Berhad before joining Kumpulan FIMA Berhad (KFB), where he was subsequently appointed Senior Vice President (SVP), Finance/Company Secretary.

He joined Celcom Axiata Berhad (Celcom) in 2001 as the Senior Vice President (Corporate

Finance and Treasury) and was appointed the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2002.  He joined TM Group as the Group Chief Financial Officer in 2005.  He was appointed to his current position as Executive Director / Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer in April 2017. He is the Chairman of Fiberail Sdn Bhd and sits on the board of several subsidiaries of TM Group including VADS Berhad, GITN Sdn. Bhd. and Webe Digital Sdn Bhd.

Datuk Bazlan has won many awards and accolades in his distinguished career. In 2015, he was named in the Global Telecoms Business 50 CFOs To Watch. In 2016 he was awarded The “Best CFO in Malaysia” at the Southeast Asia’s Institutional Investor-Corporate Award, and the CFO of the Year (Excellence in Financial Planning & Analysis) at the 5th Annual CFO Innovation Awards.

Datuk Bazlan is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom and is a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He participated in the IMD Programme for Senior Executives and the Strategic Leadership Programme, University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.  He was also a member of the Issues Committee, Malaysian Accounting Standards Board from 2006 to 2010. 

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants is honoured to induct Datuk Bazlan Osman to the Global Management Accounting Hall of Fame® for his services to the profession in Malaysia.
