Mr. Nge Huy is the first Cambodian Audit Partner of KPMG, and is currently the Head of Audit in KPMG Cambodia. He has been responsible for developing KPMG’s practice in Cambodia, managing audit engagements and coordinating accounting and auditing in Cambodia. He has more than 20 years of experiences in audit and various other assurance and special work including a year spent in KPMG Kuala Lumpur.
Mr. Huy has been the Engagement Partner and Engagement Quality Control Review Partner for various engagements; and has a wide range of experience in auditing companies in the insurance, micro-finance, banking, petroleum, telecommunication, hotel, engineering, media, manufacturing and retailing industries, non-profit organisations and funding agency projects.
He has also conducted various other assurance and special work. He also has overall responsibility of the Department of professional practice and quality and risk management and internal training programs of KPMG’s Cambodian practice.
Mr. Huy was one of the founders and initial pioneers of Kampuchea Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Auditors (KICPAA) and the National Accounting Council (NAC). In his role in the governing councils of these two bodies, he has contributed his time, knowledge and experience in developing the accounting and auditing professions in Cambodia. Mr. Huy is also a member of the Audit Quality Monitoring Committee, a committee that is overseeing quality aspects of auditing and accounting practices in Cambodia. He is currently a member of the governing council for the fifth mandate under the new Law on Accounting and Auditing.
Mr. Huy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (Majoring Accounting and Finance) from the Faculty of Business, currently National University of Management. He is a Fellow member (FCCA) of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor (CPA Cambodia) and an Approved and Accredited Independent Auditor of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia.
